AppGini vs ScriptCase
Here is what our customers say about ScriptCase
|
I have invested in serveral "PHP App generation tools" for quite some time (+15 years) and I have gone through several known ones with some good, bad and worst experiences. (Yes I have gone through PHPMaker or ScriptArtist and please, do not talk to me about ScriptCase in which I spent a lot of money & resources, just this license was an initial +$400 plus $100/year support plan not counting some $300 for each upgrade! ) So I can tell you that none had [struck] me in a good sense like AppGini did. I had been an AppGini owner/user/follower since the early versions 4 (2012/2013) and I loved it's concept since the begining. Clean, Fast, Easy to understand and to modify. And the latest version 5.60 is a refreshment of the nice original concept.

Source: an excerpt from a forum post It IS a good program - that's essentially infinitely adaptable - its use of 'hooks' (although I've seen them in other programs) - makes it highly configurable. And this from someone who owns and uses Scriptcase and ComponentOne Studio. The speed with which I can get a small project up and running is beyond comparison - many of my client have small (read: miniscule or 'no') budget (Typically: charities, help shops etc).

Source: an excerpt from a forum post ...You can do this already by revising the code in the template files and other areas.... You can modify the yourtable_templateTV and DV files to make these changes using an editor. You will also have to revise yourtable_view.php file to insure the correct table view headings. ...A product, phprunner, can do a lot of this but starts at $399. A lot more money. I already heavily modify these files myself and purchased [AppGini] because it generated the base code for me and saved me buckets of time. I then modify these files to produce the look I want. Ahmad makes a useful product and it does what it does very well at a great price point...
The above have most of the features - but, the following rule of thumb applies - the more you pay the more you get. I have tried their trial versions and found Appgini easier to use, easier to revise and easier to do what I want. |
We have been looking for a new RAD tool as our current vendor has stopped their support of their product. Although it is a great system it hasn't been updated since 2010 and now looks a little dated. I came across Appgini last night - I have reviewed and tested a whole host of systems, IronSpeed, Caspio, Scriptcase etc etc. They are all quite interesting, but I was impressed by the simplicity of Appgini. We work with 16-18 old apprentices looking to get into the IT industry and this would be a great learning tool for them. I may buy multiple licenses."

Source: customer support email Before asking my questions I want to congratulate you for making such an affordable software which seems to do the same as other software such as "php generator", "script case" and so on...

Source: customer support email I've been using several other PHP code generators including PHP-MySQL-wizard, dbQwiksite, PHP-Maker and ScriptCase for quite some time (5+ yrs) and NONE has the 3 components that combined I appreciate the most: Nice + Very Low Cost + Supportive

Source: a review on hotscripts.com I've been using Scriptcase for the past few years. I've been able to develop many web based applications and like many of the features in the product. What I don't like is support is not responsive and many times support requests are handled by non developers. Not so bad as long as they are fully trained but when most don't really speak English it makes trying to explain my problems that much harder. I love the snappiness of [AppGini], the clean look of the interface, and for sure the price. Support that understands my questions and that is available for a fee on harder issues, along with the ability to extend AppGini with hooks makes this a pretty much no brainer. I'm just glad I don't have to learn Portuguese to get support! ;) Scriptcase is from Brazil.
