00:13 This tutorial shows you how to import data from other sources through the admin area.

00:19 AppGini supports importing data from CSV files. CSV, or Comma-separated values, format is a very common file format that most applications can export to.

00:31 As you can see, the “customers” table doesn't contain any data. We'll add data to it by importing it from a CSV file. Click “admin area”, “utilities” and choose “import CSV data”. Now choose the table you wish to add data to, in our example it’s “customers” table, and choose the file you wish to add.

00:54 If your CSV file comes from Excel, it should import fine without adjusting any settings. Otherwise, you might need to change the CSV settings by clicking "Show advanced options". Once you are done, click “preview CSV data”. You can either “change CSV settings”, if the preview doesn't look fine, or “confirm and insert CSV data” if all is OK.

01:19 Now we need to assign an owner to the imported records. Select an owner group, and an owner member and click “assign new owners”.

01:34 Once you switch back to the “user’s area” you will find all the data you just imported populated in “customers” table.
